‘Black Dog (Red) (Muzzled)’

£1,495.00

In his recent work Patrick Colhoun has focused on the notion that the making process has become a thing that helps the artist function with everyday life and that the idea of having a project ongoing is integral to the artist’s wellbeing.

Work regularly references childhood and growing up which is reinforced by the materials used and subject matter referenced. However, darker subjects such as prescription medication abuse, depression, surveillance and censorship also permeate the artist’s work.

Materials: ceramic, Corian, Meccano, threaded rods, wing nuts, rubber washers, hosiery, metal spikes, cage.

Artist Bio

Patrick Colhoun’s practice is multi-disciplinary with sculptures and installations combining ceramic with unconventional materials such as hosiery, neon, latex, and piercings.

This unconventional approach reinforces Patrick’s early decision to move away from ceramics with a traditional craft approach towards a version of what the artist terms ‘Anti Ceramics’.
