‘Ballast’ Series

£300.00

Aisling Higgins’ current work reflects life’s ongoing journey to find balance; balancing the creative space she holds for herself, the discipline of her working practice, the responsibility of teaching, and the joy and demands of being a mum which are constantly shifting – a pendulum between roles that both define and inspire her. The pieces in this exhibition are from her current collection called ‘Ballast’ – a tangible expression of this pursuit.

Each piece explores the tension, harmony, and interplay between these spaces. The form and materials are inspired by the dynamics of weight and counterweight, reflecting the ever-changing daily equilibrium. Aisling uses mild steel for its resilience, strength and colour and Lignum Vitae wood for its healing properties and stabilising qualities – it is one of the hardest woods in the world.

This collection is not only a personal exploration but also an invitation to others to consider their own balancing acts. It’s a celebration of resilience, adaptability, and the beauty found in the in-between moments where life and creativity coexist.

Please note, each necklace is priced at £300 individually. Enquire with the Gallery for more details.

Materials: steel, Lignum Vitae wood, nylon
