‘Gravitation’ brooch

£2,300.00

For this exhibition, Natasha submitted a pair of minimal, sculptural designs driven by geometry, symbolism, and astronomy, the ‘Eclipse’ ring and the ‘Gravitation’ brooch. The pair work in harmony bound together by the theme of action and reaction. Flowing and spiralling first in one direction and then the other.

While the ‘Eclipse’ ring signifies action, the ‘Gravitation’ brooch (shown here) signifies reaction: it  turns inwards, turning like a coil to place to fix into when worn. Open/close, cause/effect, space/time, action/reaction. A cyclical golden length which twists neatly into place, held tight by tension and spring. A finely drawn single length of gold holding a series of black pearls in orbit exploring the reaction of space and time. Sometimes it is as much about what you can remove.

Materials: 18ct yellow gold, black freshwater pearls

Dimensions: 100mm x 100mm x 35mm
